The homophobic right is quick to call for the boycott of companies that they see as sympathetic to the “homosexual agenda”. Through the years Google, McDonalds, Disney, and Pepsi among many others have been targets of the so-called family groups like Campaign for Children and Families.
So in keeping with these group’s SOP of calling for boycotts of homosexual friendly organizations, will the US Military be next in line for their boycott calls when Barack Obama changes the policy and allows gays to openly serve in the Armed Forces?
President-Elect Barack Obama will end the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy towards gays in the military as part of moves to sweep away remnants of the Bush era.
It might make things a bit difficult for the homophobes, who often also subscribe to the Bush doctrine of bombing the crap out of every country that looks at us funny, to also boycott (by telling young people to not enlist?) the organizations that are tasked with carrying out that agenda. So will they stick to their agenda of intolerance in this case as well?
