Abortion Measure Will Be On Ballot
State Election Supervisor Kea Warne says a measure to ban most abortions in South Dakota will be on the November ballot.
Warne said Friday that more than the required 16,776 petition signatures were verified to qualify the issue for placement on the ballot.
The measure would ban all abortions, unless deemed necessary to preserve the life or health of women, and in cases of rape or incest.
A more-restrictive ban failed two years ago after it was passed by the Legislature but referred to a popular vote.
Too bad some of these folks aren't as committed to issues like school funding, gas prices, the war in Iraq etc. as then something might actually get done...
