You Know Things Are Bad When...

Our friends in Pierre are looking to raise the tax on ethanol blended fuel otherwise known as South Dakota's "liquid gold".
SB110, offered by Sen. Jerry Apa, R-Lead, would remove the current 2-cent fuel tax exemption on the common ethanol blend that motorists use across the state.

The state fuel tax on straight gasoline is 22 cents a gallon, but the tax is 20 cents on ethanol.

Apa's measure would also make the tax on ethanol 22 cents a gallon.
It seems the GOP controlled legislature is having no problem with that normally liberal stereotype of tax, tax, tax.
