Will This Help Paul Be Taken Seriously?

Ron Paul's internet army has done it again, raising more than $4.2 million in contributions in 24 hours ranking only behind Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for single day success.
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, aided by an extraordinary outpouring of Internet support Monday, claimed to haul in more than $4.2 million in nearly 24 hours.

Paul's reported total deposed Mitt Romney as the single-day fundraising record holder in the Republican presidential field.
Paul now has raised over $7.2M (according to his web site) so far this quarter that started Oct 1st and is well on his way to meeting his fund raising goal of $12M. With this sudden surge in funding the question should be asked, is Ron Paul now a serious contender for the GOP or will he still need to go the 3rd party route?

The second question that should be asked is how bad must the Republican field be overall if we are even entertaining the thought of Ron Paul being a viable candidate for the GOP? Maybe Dennis Kucinich can catch fire in the coming months, how would a Kucinich versus Paul election play out next November?

Wake me please I am having a nightmare!
