Not A Clue

One of our local far right conservative bloggers had a post yesterday calling out so-called liberals for what he describes as crying about Governor Rounds not coming out to spare the life of convicted murder Elijah Page. Page is scheduled to die by lethal injection at the end of the month.
Several Left-wing groups and most of the Leftist blogs in South Dakota are crying about the upcoming execution of convicted murderer Elijah Page, practically begging Governor Rounds to spare his life.

Now I am not sure which liberal groups he is talking about (I was unaware the Catholic Church was considered liberal), or which liberal bloggers he was talking about but I don't believe he quite understands some of my posts on the subject which echo other left leaning blogger's concerns.

While I can't speak for the bloggers he thinks are calling for Rounds to issue a stay, I can say on my behalf that I hope this man does get what he wants at the end of an IV needle a few weeks from now. What I and others are calling into question is the hypocrisy of those on the right that are saying that they are fighting for the sanctity of life but are applauding Rounds' decision to allow the execution to go forward.

They justify their position by trying to make the distinction between the "innocent life" of a several week old fetus versus the taking the life of a murderer. To their credit, the Catholic Church doesn't make this distinction but many of the pro-lifer's such as this blogger do and that is where the hypocrisy comes in to play.

Protection of innocent life vs. execution of murderers? What does that say about the hypocrisy of the so-called pro-life Right? Or should I say the under certain circumstances pro-life.
